Police killings
Black people are three time more likely to be killed by police.
Police killings by state
Do the math. For instance, consider a community with 500 Whites and 100 Black residents. Say 5 White people and 5 Black people are killed.
Five people of each race are killed. But the killing percentage of Whites is 1% (5/500) while the percentage of Blacks killed is 5% (5/100).
The racial disparity in this hypothetical example would be 5 times. This means a Black resident is five times more likely to die from a police killing than a White person.

Reform needed
As Congress delays action, communities take police reform into their own hands
"The murder of George Floyd is a stain on the soul of America. It spurred the nation to collectively demand justice. I strongly support the House-passed George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and urge the Senate to join in passing meaningful police reform legislation that includes accountability when law enforcement officers violate their oaths." - President Biden
Republicans block reform
"Police Chiefs Says Republicans Killed Police Reform Bill That Would Have Strengthened Police Departments. They may run on Democrats defunding the police, but it is Republicans who represent a danger to the security of our cities and towns around the country." - Politicusus
