Chester Creek Trail
Phase 2- Final Design

The Chester Creek Trail: A Primary Trail
The Chester Creek Trail is part of the Delaware County Primary Trail Network. The countywide network of trails was laid out in the 2015 County Greenway Plan . The trails within the Primary Trail Network are highest priority trails to get developed.
The Chester Creek Trail traverses the southwestern quadrant of the county. The first study on this trail system was completed in 2002 and examined the entire six and one-half mile former rail bed corridor. The field inventory provided an opportunity to identify the obstacles to the creation of the trail, along with the incredible recreation and inter-modal transportation opportunity it presents. The completion of this study enabled the construction of Phase 1 of the Chester Creek Trail, a 2.83-mile segment through Middletown Township and Aston. Chester Creek Trail was part of a recent study, Return on the Environment . The study highlights the economic benefits the trail has brought to the community. We look forward to expanding this economic benefit all along the Chester Creek Trail Corridor. Phase 2 of the trail is currently under final design and permitting and is the focus of this StoryMap.
