Community of Practice: Interactive models of water

Find out how and where interactive models of water are being used to support education and engagement

Interactive models bring water to life and help people understand how water behaves in catchments, rivers and at the coast.

This online resource is designed to help the community share ideas, knowledge and inspiration to support education and outreach activities.

Explore the map to find out where and how interactive models are being used. You can find out more about  all the JBA Trust's interactive models here .

Creators

The interactive models in the map above have been designed, built and inspired by many different people and organisations. Explore our 'creators' map to learn more about the development of the models.

If you are  interested in building your own model , we are happy to share detailed design drawings and top tips for construction.

'Make Your Own'

Designing and creating your own interactive model can be a great project, particularly for student groups, and there are some fantastic examples out there!

If you would like to request detailed design drawings and build guidance for any of the models, please  get in touch  and we will do our best to help. We are always happy to share our experience so please let us know if you'd like to arrange an informal chat about your project and ideas.

About

These maps and the information they contain are provided as a resource to help share knowledge about interactive models, particularly those that the JBA Trust has helped develop since 2012.

In some cases we have developed new models in collaboration with partner organisations, and in other cases we have simply shared our detailed design drawings and experience to help people create and develop their own models.

We do our best to make the information as accurate as possible but we know that some of the information could go out of date, or that there may be relevant data points we are not aware of. If you spot anything that needs an update,  please let us know!
