ArcGIS Online basics - Map Viewer Classic
In this video tutorial - Discover ArcGIS Online, you will learn how to search for a location on the map, measure a feature, explore the ocean basemap and create a heat map in the Map Viewer Classic.

Video Tutorial
Part 1
- Changes to part 1 of this tutorial (not included in the video) - Sign in section and search for web map
- Sign into ArcGIS Online at https://www.arcgis.com OR through your school account. Click Map Note: If the default is the Map Viewer, click on Open in Map Viewer Classic (top right) to use the appropriate one for this tutorial.
- Click Home and type in “Discover ArcGIS Online” in the Search window.
- Under Filters > deactivate radio button Note: Make sure you deactivate the radio button that only searches in your school organization. We want to search all of ArcGIS Online.
- Under Filters > Item type > Maps >Web maps
- Results> Click Open in Map Viewer Classic. Note: If you see Open in Map Viewer on your screen, click on the … and select Map Viewer Classic.
Search for your school or home in ArcGIS Online!
