Everything goes in a full circle when talking about nature, it is not called the circle of life for nothing. However this goes in a different way, starting with one portion at a time. The toxins released here in Indiana go around and affect the local neighborhoods, and even those further into the state.

The circle mentioned before still continues down with the waters. Whether it is water that fish from ecosystems thrive in or the water that comes from the tap every day. Every source of water has a high chance of contamination if it is not already contaminated for the reasons below. Sadly, here in Indiana we have a huge water contamination issue. Excess Nutrients such as Phosphorus, types of Sediment Run-off, and even infectious diseases such as E. Coli can be found contaminating our drinking waters. Just one of these alone is harmful enough, and the possibility of all three is another thing.

Climate change. Whether some believe that it is our doing or not, it is still happening and the toxins in the air and water are aiding the trees as much as they are us. Which.. is not a lot. A study found on Purdue.edu, titled “Indiana's Future Forests: A Report from the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment”, discusses the possible outcomes for our forests. The article mentions how the rise in climate and pollution can damage the forests. This damage includes “shifts in the distributions and abundances of trees, under story plants and wildlife, as well as changes in the environmental, economic and cultural benefits these forests provide.”
