Wright Family Travel Log

A brief travel log of some adventures our family has taken since we blended together three years ago.

Our family started forming four years ago when I met my wife; since then, we have taken many adventures together [the points on this map show most of the places we have traveled together].

This story map explores a few of my favorite vacations that we have taken since getting together.

Three years ago, we started our adventure together by...

Getting married on top of a mountain. Instead of a traditional wedding, we decided to elope to gorgeous Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This picture was taken at the Garden of the Gods.

Our friends and family from all across the United States met us there to have a small ceremony in the Garden of the Gods; everything turned out perfectly for a pop-up wedding.

After the wedding was over, we all hiked [after changing out of our wedding clothes, of course], hung out in Manitou Springs, and ate all kinds of delicious food.

My wife and I stayed a few days after everyone else left for a miniature honeymoon.

A few months after the wedding, our newly-formed, blended family took a trip out east for Christmas of 2021; we ended up at one of my favorite places [please do not judge me too harshly]...

Disney World for a Christmas celebration!

This is the castle for the 50th Anniversary.

We all wanted to go to see the park decorated for Christmas, and they did not disappoint! Along with it being all decked out for Christmas, the decorations were also exaggerated for their 50th Year Anniversary.

It was a really great time, and it was fun to watch all of the kids enjoy themselves. We are already talking about out next trip there because our youngest [Jude] was only three months old when we took this vacation.

The next city will always be one of my favorite places to visit. Mainly for three, very important, reasons:

Family, Baseball, and Architecture.

The city that I am referring to is...

Chicago, Illinois!

Millennium Park - Downtown Chicago

The Magnificent Mile - Downtown Chicago

For this trip, we went to go hang out with the family for Thanksgiving. While there, we took a little day trip into the city to eat some Chicago-style pizza, see some of the buildings, and do a little Christmas shopping.

While this city is always a fun place to visit, my favorite time of the year to go is the summer when I can catch a Cubbies game at Wrigley Field.

With a blended family of five kids, it is necessary to prioritize time for just the two of us. So for this next trip [my favorite trip], Aimee [my wife] and I busted out the passports and headed south of the border to...

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

While staying here, we took Sea Doo's out on the Pacific Ocean, went deep sea fishing [still haven't caught a Marlin], saw a ton of marine wildlife and ate muchos camidas deliciosas.

I love going to Mexico, and I cannot wait to go back. We already have our next outing planned in November to a completely different destination, so please check out this Story Map in a few months...
