Playground

Nature-based playscape

Located close to picnic and social areas, the playscape is designed for the use of children of different ages and abilities, inviting children to climb, clamber and use their imagination when playing. Discovery gardens, climbing wall and lookouts form part of the experience. Mimicking the grandeur of the dolerite escarpments on kunanyi/Mt Wellington, terraced rock walls protect the area from wind.

The playscape was developed using feedback from local schools and a range of stakeholders and community groups to create a space that is really special for families.
