South Park is a Neighborhood Like No Other in Seattle
South Park is a welcoming neighborhood with a rich cultural heritage. More than half of residents speak a language other than English at home, and the community reflects a broad range of backgrounds and experiences. Residents are deeply engaged in their neighborhood, with many volunteering and working through local organizations to expand opportunities and improve conditions, particularly for young people.
Reconnect South Park is a locally-driven initiative focused on improving health, safety, transportation, and neighborhood connectivity in South Park and the broader region.
By working with community members, businesses, and local organizations, the project is advancing solutions that strengthen infrastructure, support economic growth, and enhance quality of life. Together, we are investing in a future where South Park remains a safe, thriving, and opportunity-rich community.

The South Park community has a strong tradition of local leadership and volunteerism, working together to improve neighborhood conditions and expand opportunities.
Many of South Park’s key destinations—including the business district, community center, library, food bank, senior center, Marra Farm, and parks—exist today because of the dedication and collaboration of residents.
While South Park continues to grow and thrive, the neighborhood also navigates environmental and infrastructure challenges. Residents and local organizations are working to enhance health, mobility, and quality of life, addressing concerns such as industrial activity, air and noise impacts, and the transportation barriers created by State Route 99. Through strategic investment and community-driven solutions, South Park is building a stronger, healthier future.
