NOAA Ocean Exploration invites members of the ocean exploration community to submit priority areas for acoustic mapping and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations for the 2025 NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer field season in Hawai'i.

This survey tool allows for submission of priority acoustic mapping and ROV dive target areas that will be used to plan 2025 Okeanos Explorer operations in support of the upcoming Beyond the Blue: Illuminating the Pacific campaign and contributing to the National Strategy for Ocean Mapping, Exploration, and Characterization (NOMEC).

In 2025, the ship schedule will feature an ROV focused expedition to the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument.

The ship is scheduled to leave the U.S. Hawaii from Honolulu in March of 2025, after a regular maintenance period.
