What it is?
PlaceM4ke P4! is placemaking program, base on the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Theory that advocates public spaces as a means of preventing crime and supporting community development.
How much funding do we have?
$2 million allocated for street improvements in Gulfton and Sharpstown each, with an additional $250,000 for arts projects in both areas.
What is the timeline?
Funds must be spent by December 2026
How can we make the biggest impact?
Layering eligible components like street improvements, and art along specific corridors will provide the most clear impact to the environment in Gulfton and Sharpstown.
