The PRADU Program

The City of Encinitas started their pre-approved ADU program in April of 2019. Their program offers 8 pre-approved designs ranging from 224 sq. ft. to 1,199 sq. ft.. In the first 8 months of the program, 27 ADU's using the PRADU plans were approved.

San Diego County, CA

San Diego County is the second most populated county in California.

County Standard ADU Plans

San Diego County pre-approved ADU plans became available in November of 2019. The six pre-approved plans range from 600 to 1,200 sq. ft.. San Diego County also offers a fee waiver program for ADU's which drastically lowers development impact fees.

The City of San Jose is the largest city in Silicon Valley and is known as a STEM hub.

Pre-Approved ADU Program

San Jose began their pre-approved ADU program in September of 2019. Their program has 5 pre-approved plans ranging from 364 to 640 sq. ft.. Because of the successful streamlining of the program, ADU units in San Jose can be built in about 90 days.

The City of Chico, CA plans to start their pre-approved ADU program by the end of 2020.
