Olympia's Digital Walking Art Tour
A capstone mock-up for the City of Olympia

Olympia's Art
Civic investment in public art can strengthen a city’s identity and sense of place and contribute to economic growth. The City of Olympia designates that one dollar per person and one percent of major city construction projects be set aside for public art. Projects range from small local artist projects to major installations and design teams. Public art is all over Olympia - in neighborhoods, parks, public buildings, and streets!
Olympia's public art is inspiring, thought-provoking, functional, and inclusive. Our goal is a public art program that is woven into the community and our daily lives (City of Olympia).

The Experience Olympia's Art- Digital Walking Art Tour was developed as a guide for visitors and residents to experience and learn more about the public art in Olympia.
This storymap spans a four-block area of over 45 public art pieces. Information on each piece is provided for tour participants including location, medium, date created, artist information, and background/stories.
The City of Olympia developed three storymaps to highlight downtown art. This walking art tour combines the details of each storymap into one. To view the storymaps that make up this walking art tour, click the links below:
