Brattleboro Walk/Bike Action Plan

The Town of Brattleboro was recently awarded a State of Vermont Municipal Planning Grant to support the development of a Walk/Bike Master Plan. The plan will focus on priority corridors that connect Brattleboro’s residential neighborhoods with commercial areas, recreation paths, schools, and other major destinations. It will create a prioritized action plan that will make walking and biking safe, comfortable, and convenient, resulting in an increase in the number of walkers and bicyclists across all ages, genders, and abilities.

Are there places in Brattleboro you'd like to walk or bike, but don't feel safe doing so? Where would you like to see new off-street trails, new bike lanes or new connections? Where do you experience challenges or gaps when you walk or bike?  Where would you like to see an improved street crossing? Use the map below to indicate where there is a walking or biking issue you’d like to see addressed. These can be as small as a badly placed sign or a missing sidewalk ramp to as big as an intersection reconfiguration or a new bike lane.

Zoom in or out on the map clicking the "+" and "-" icons at the top left of the map. The map includes existing bike lanes, shared lane markings, and sidewalks. Click +Submit a Report in the bottom right corner on the map to place a point on the map showing us the location. Fill out the comment form to give us more information. If you have photos of the problem or what treatments you would like to see, upload them under Attachments. Click Report It! to submit. After you submit, you will find an icon in the location where you made the comment. You can also add your support to someone else's comment by clicking on the points on the map, reading the description, and clicking the ♥ in the comment box.
