V-Global Workshop Madrid
Virtual Field Trips for University Teachers and Students
Natalie Bienert and Nina Scholten were invited by Sandra Sprenger (Universität Hamburg) to take part in the V-Global multiplier event in Madrid from July 3.-7. 2023. Approximately thirty teacher educators from all over Europe and beyond (Greece, Spain, Germany, Israel, United Kingdom, Ireland, France...) came together. The multiplier event prepared university educators to qualify future teachers to plan and conduct virtual field trips to enhance geographical education in a digital age.
Corporate work on a virtual field trip for students (Bienert)
We prepared virtual field trips for two neighbourhoods: Ciudad Universitaria, a planned district dedicated to higher education, and the bohemian and multicultural Lavapiés. The overarching theme was global change in its different dimensions (e.g. waste management, water pollution, noise pollution, vandalism, accessibility, cultural diversity). Below you can find selected impressions, integrated in the virtual trips:
