Public Impacts

Roadway Closures

Expect to see disruption to traffic during construction including daily and overnight lane closures. Please note that when there are complete street closures, access for residents is required to be provided by our contractor - Larry Young Paving. Additionally, You will be notified by the general contractor to coordinate access to your home, as needed.

Lime Stabilization

This project will be utilizing lime stabilization of the subgrade. Lime stabilization involves mixing lime into the soil to improve its strength and stability. During this process, lime dust can become airborne, which may be noticeable to residents nearby. The City of Bryan Engineering Department has instructed the contractor to spray down the lime to minimize the dust and reduce any potential nuisance.

Early Work / Weekend Work

To minimize disruption of business traffic and resident access to their homes, the city has authorized LYP to perform construction activities outside of normal construction hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday).  For any work outside these hours, the contractor is required to provide at least 48 hour notice to affected businesses and residents via a door hanger.

Utility Outages

Utility outages including temporary water shut-offs may be required to connect private service lines into the newly installed water and sewer mains. You will be notified of any utility outages and any early-work by the contractor at least 48 hours beforehand.
