Traveling the Midwest, Doing Things
My friend Jacqie had bought a new fancy grill and was tempting me with tasty images of food. I decided I was going to get off my butt and taste said food since I never travel and this would be the perfect time.
I decided the most affordable and economical way to travel to Iowa was by the Greyhound Bus. I am on a fixed income and flights were being cancelled left and right across the country.
I knew the approximate route I wanted to go, and I figured I would stop and see family along the way in both Madison, WIsconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Why Not?
The first stop on my journey was a full day in Madison, Wisconsin, where I visited with my aunt and uncle who I had not seen since Christmas. It was very nice to catch up with them and see the local zoo.
After the zoo, we decided to check out the best burger in Madison, Dotty's Dumpling Dowry. It was one of the greatest burgers I have ever had.
I knew I would have a few hour layover in Minneapolis, so I decided to have breakfast with my cousin Jim, who made time for me before shuffling off to work. Good times!
The Greyhound dropped me off at a Sinclair Fuel Stop. I did not know these things still existed! From there, Jacqie kidnapped me to bring me to Iowa...
Coming back from Iowa, I knew I would have a layover in Minneapolis as well. I reached out to my friend Adrienne who happily met me to give me a quick tour of the city before I caught my bus back to Chicago.
