Queer Ancestor Map
pilgrimage (noun): any long journey, especially one undertaken as a quest or for a votive purpose, as to pay homage

A pilgrimage is a journey someone undertakes to gain a deeper awareness of themselves, the world, and their relationship to it. Often those who undertake them hope to experience a personal transformation. These journeys are often to places of significance to the transformation one seeks - a holy place, a shrine, a memorial, places of historic significance.
Below is a map cataloging resting places and associated memorials for folks I've been cataloging on the White Rose Witching blog through Queer Ancestor Spotlights . You can view this as a pilgrimage map of sorts. Over time you might find yourself at one of these locations reflecting on the legacies of those who came before us, who fought to expand our place in the world, and whose work we carry forward.
- The current map feature does not allow embedding of hyperlinks. To view the Queer Ancestor Spotlight associated with each location you will need to copy/paste the link in the 'Read More' description into your browser.
- The map defaults to the most recent entry. To explore other locations please zoom out.
- You can also use the map legend in the bottom left corner to jump immediately to listed locations.
