In order to place a greater emphasis on the South China Sea, only the claims of the Eastern portion of Malaysia are displayed.
In addition, a representation of the Malaysia's exclusive economic zone is provided for additional reference on its claims. No claimant has publicly demarcated its EEZ, so this current representation may be subject to change.
Malaysia has not submitted official straight baseline claim coordinates to UNCLOS. However, using official maps produced in its Joint Submission with Vietnam , Malaysia's straight baseline and territorial sea limits could be estimated.
In areas where maritime boundaries are in dispute, we show the claims of each party based on the best publicly available information. ICAS emphasizes that these maps are not to be taken as an endorsement of any one party's respective claims over another's.
