AGIC Geospatial Summit - GIS for Good was a Success!

AGIC Data Committee Workgroups, in partnership with Yavapai College, held a spring geospatial summit in June, titled "GIS for Good." The summit was held in Prescott and was well attended. The Thursday event included live demonstrations of drones and how they are used for surveying, collecting imagery and LiDAR data. The Keynote address by Johnathan Gholson on Thursday afternoon, provided insight into the Civil Air Patrol geospatial efforts and how they embrace GIS for good throughout their programs. Friday continued the conversation from Thursday, showing participants how to process the data collected from the drones into usable datasets. Presentations on Friday showcased how Arizona Geospatial Professionals are positively impacting citizens across the state. Proceedings from this event are being compiled and will be available soon through the  AGIC website .
