My Story So Far!

If you do not know yet, I spent 13 years in the Philippines before moving to Canada. These are the highlights of my life:

Where I was born

I was born in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. This place is notorious for its "tough" people.

Where I studied Elementary School

I studied at Project 6 Elementary School. It is about 10 mins away from my home if I walk and about 6 mins if I commute by Jeepney. We graduate once we finish 6th grade.

Where I started High School

The high school I attended is a few blocks from my elementary school. My high school is called Ernesto Rondon High School. The school's name used to be Project 6 High School, but the local government at the time changed it. I do not know the whole story, but they changed it to commemorate the memory of Sir Ernesto Rondon, who made significant contributions at the time. Ernesto Rondon High School is notorious for its delinquent students, but our class proved it wrong! our class was in section 13 (the smaller the number, the "smarter" the students were), and we surprised the teachers with how well we performed. How did this happen? Simple, most of the students in Section 13 were top students in Project 6. Since the number of students is massive, enrolment services would randomly assign students to different sections. So, the notion about sections is a myth; students in lower sections are not necessarily "unintelligent." Our education system is exceptionally cruel. Sadly, I only spent a year in this school before stopping and moving to Canada. However, that one year was full of happiness and adventure.

Here is a snippet of our chaotic class!  https://youtu.be/VMmLOSzZ5I0

Where I lived before moving to Canada

Our family kept switching places to live but eventually settled in Quezon City. This was the perfect place to settle since our relatives' subdivisions were beside ours. If you walk through the arrow, our tiny home is behind this luxury home.

Where I first lived in Canada

I lived in Melville for two years. It is a very quiet place, and the sound of trains at night was very soothing. I continued high school here at Saint Henry's Senior School until 9th Grade. It was a huge culture shock. Back in the Philippines, we only have one lunch time, so I was confused why my classmates were insisting I should go out and play outside. Schools in the Philippines do not begin on September either, so overall it was a surreal first year in Canada.

Trip to Ottawa (EF Tours)

8th grade field trip! I learned so much from this trip especially about the history of Canada! Although I may have fell asleep in some of them!

7

Trip to Montreal (EF Tours)

8th grade field trip part 2! Again I learned so much and it was a really fun experience.

8

Trip to Banff (MC Tour)

9th grade field trip! Exclusive for grade 9s only. Our school only goes up to 9th grade then we have to move in Melville Comprehensive School. So, this trip serves as a farewell trip for us grade 9s. I remember it being full of memories and happiness!

Trip to Calgary Zoo (MC Tour)

9th grade field trip part 2! I remember this day being crazy hot that I went to the Panda booth just to buy an umbrella! Overall it was an extremely fun day!

Current Home

After finishing 9th grade, our family moved to Regina since my sister was starting her first year of University at the University of Regina.

P.S. the pin on the map is not where I live in Regina.

Where I finished High School

I continued my high school at Dr. Martin LeBoldus Catholic High School. I was back from square one: I know no one in there. However, I am extremely glad I met a few friends whom I occasionally hang out with.

Current life

Right now, I am studying at UofR. My daily life consist of studying, playing, sleeping, and existing.
